It was an incredibly satisfying short addition to my favorite game of 2013. Everything else about this DLC exceeded my expectations. Also I did have a couple minor problems with the gameplay, such as the huge difficulty spike at the end, and Ellie automatically standing up after stealth killing an enemy from a crouched stance, causing you to make noise by accident. A 3-hour long DLC inside a 12-hour long main game is fine.

That's $5 per hour, if you don't plan on replaying it on a higher difficulty or finding all the collectibles. It also felt a little too short for a $15 asking price. However, I thought the ending felt just a little rushed and inconclusive. There are 2 different stories that play back-to-back here, and it fills in some of the gaps that seemed to have been unexplained in the main game. Naughty Dog put in great effort into making their very first single player DLC. This DLC clocks in at around 3 hours long, and not one minute of it drags behind. Intense, emotional, compelling, captivating, and well put together. This The Last of Us: Left Behind is what you'd expect from Naughty Dog. If you enjoyed The Last of Us at all, I'm sure you'll love this too. I HIGHLY recommend anyone reading this to just play it if you haven't already, it only takes a couple hours. But way too many are actual homophobia, and *those* can definitely be ignored. I do kind of get where some of these negative reviews from 2014 were coming from, given the price at the time. Seeing her connection with Riley so closely makes it so much more heartbreaking for her character and everything she's been through. Very happy there were no compromises on the graphics or any other aspects of quality, especially storytelling.

Gameplay is still fun, like the original, but I'm glad it took more of a backseat in this side chapter. I personally think it definitely adds a lot to her story and her character, to see her being able to just be a regular kid for once. Great DLC! Gave more of a focus on Ellie in an interesting way since all we saw of her in the main game was from Joel's perspective, apart Great DLC!
